Envision the pictures of idyllic village life depicted in medieval paintings. You may think that it is only to England the previous, but that previous has been wonderfully preserved and transported to the present in the Cotswolds of southwest England.Cotswold Hills is mentioned as an area of outstanding natural magnificence, where you can experience past and present lifestyle and modern custom blending together. You will stroll through the same beautiful green hills and landscaped gardens you thought only existed in the novels of Jane Austen and visit the same stone and thatched cottages you saw in medieval painting. What and where are the Cotswolds?Located in the southwest of the earth, the Cotswolds are a range of hills chop the six counties of southwest to the northeast, including Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. There are several theories about the origin of the title "Cotswolds." The word "wold" means hills. Typically the meaning is interpreted as "pregnant sheep in rolling hills," But also, we think that may need the cod were historic title or a private performance of "Cuda", a goddess worshiped in the Cotswold Hills. What happens to see you in the Cotswolds?

Undeniably and typically English, a holiday home in the Cotswolds will put you in the "Heart of England, an area of outstanding natural beauty that spans six counties. Most of the Cotswolds are in counties Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire and a cottage in the Cotswolds here will not be the last. There are good reasons for the Cotswolds attract crowds of tourists from around the world – if you want the opinion of England boxes chocolate, then you will see in the Cotswolds. In the middle of rolling green hills, you will find the villages of honey and scenes of glorious color postcard. Your holiday cottage in the Cotswolds may be a cottage, a Retirement isolated river, or hiking old stone manor house (though can hardly be described as a cottage in the Cotswolds.) The whole area exudes old world charm. You can of course follow the crowd and make a reservation a cottage in the Cotswolds villages in one of the best known. Be warned though, these parts of the Cotswolds are besieged by tourists during the summer months, which may take the edge of their charm… .. The best thing to do is look for a cottage in the Cotswolds in one of the lesser-known villages. You will always be in spitting distance of the most famous monuments, but will have the opportunity to discover the real life of Cotswold and meet any of the locals. For the active vacationer, and a cottage in the Cotswolds is an excellent choice. Itare endless walks through the countryside, stunning horse riding and mountain biking, fishing and water sports and all points in between. Some towns within easy distance of your cottage in the Cotswolds include Cheltenham and Oxford, the two places steeped in history and ideal for shopping. Everyone has heard of the Cotswolds, and most people want a cottage in the Cotswolds, but not many know why it is so well known. Wealth came to the area in medieval times when a boom in the wool trade, and he was left with a plethora of fine buildings that earned his place in history until the end of time. If you're after a touch of romance, or maybe even consider a proposal, then there is no better place to do it in a cottage in the Cotswolds. Cream teas, rolling fields, exposed beams and babbling brooks – nothing can beat him.Due to the popularity of the area, you will find no shortage of options when it comes to choosing your cottage in the Cotswolds. The bolt holes isolated from the celebration of the houses, you will be able to find something to meet your needs and group size. If you want any peace and quiet, and choose a cottage to rent in a typical village Cotswolds – and make sure it has a pub and a shop, so you do not go anywhere if you and do not want. If you're after a place to have a meeting with family and friends, then there is enough money in this part of the world that homes are ten a penny – no shortage of those either. Whatever you're after, a cottage in the Cotswolds will give you the chance to revive and revitalize, and allow yourself to bask in the surrounding beauty.

Mum and I are travelling to the Cotswolds from Australia for a week or so in late September. We are planning to do lots of walking and would love to know what sory of animals, etc we can expect to see. Are there any websites that could help us identify different types? Thanks for your time. From what I can tell… There's a useful downloadable sheet on the Cotswolds AOB ("area of outstanding natural beauty&quot here, which describes the animals and plants which make it so special: it's Factsheet 8 (Biodiversity). . But the best way of discovering for yourselves what there is to see in September will be to contact the local Wildlife Trust (either Wiltshire or Gloucestershire, depending on which bit of the Cotswolds you'll be visiting). . They're all volunteers and one of their big things are guided wildlife-themed walks and hikes. Here are links for both of them. . Have a wonderful time when you visit. Hope the weather's kind so you can enjoy all the outdoorsy stuff you want to do. =D

We saw a monument to William Tyndale (pre-reformation translator of the Bible into English), ate at some cozy historic pubs, attended a lovely church service, saw Berkeley Castle (from a distance), visited a friend in Bristol, and stayed at the Road Green House B&B with the best hosts you could ask for. Before we came back to Oxford, we went to the Wetlands and Wildlife Trust: another video you must watch!
