What kind of things you can do there? What does it look like? Some details please. Please help. Thank you. Well, I have your answer here. It is a hilly area. The villages are very picturesque with its stone houses of mellow. Two examples are logging, unfortunately, called Upper and Lower. Another is to Broadway

Just do not know if renting a car is our best ooption or if there is a train to take us to the Cotswolds. We only have 3 full days and we have to return to Heathrow to go home. In addition, everything can not miss or places to stay / eat in the Cotswolds would be appreciated. I think I found an answer. You do not say what part of the Cotswolds or what city you are traveling to. There are two rail lines serving London Paddington Cotswolds: Moreton-London-Oxford-Worcester in the Marais and London-Swindon-Kemble-Stroud-Gloucester-Cheltenham. Both run mostly every two hours and Cheltenham is a good city to base yourself in. The railway operator is First Great Western

The Cotswolds are a beautiful part of the English countryside. With the hills and valleys, the Cotswolds are an ideal place for vacations in any season. With most parts in the Cotswolds from London just an hour, it is probably the best destination in England for a breath of fresh air and retreat from the pressures of city life. But how do you find the best holiday cottage in the Cotswolds? There are several things to consider. For example how many people does the cottage need to meet? Views are beautiful must have for you? Would you like to be cut or cottage near a major city or town such as Cheltenham or Gloucester? The cottage must be a dog or pet?Essentially, you must decide if you want a romantic getaway from the bustle of cut daily life, or a cultural visit to enjoy all that the Cotswold towns and cities have to offer. Maybe you are interested in visiting the Cheltenham Literature Festival or the Stroud Fringe Festival. Or maybe you need a place to stay during the Cheltenham races. Whatever the reason for your stay, it should be noted that there are some beautiful isolated pieces of the Cotswolds, that only locals seem to know.

I am visiting Australia for the first time. We BandB good. My mom wants to see Dover, but ideally we want to support us in the Cotswolds for the majority of our trip. I know that when we hire our car going to London to Dover, then to Stonehenge, Bath and then, probably in Chipping Norton / Stratford on Avon "feasible" in two days of driving. Where would you recommend to do at night? (Ie not in the Cotswolds, but halfway or so along the journey.) Also, if you know what the Cotswolds village / town would you recommend? We expect about 4 nights in this city by using it as a base to look around his surroundings. Any other advice is welcome. Thank you a lot. After looking around, I learned – Plot your route on Google Maps – but allow a lot of time. Because of congestion, for example, it may take 3 + hours to get to Dover from London, even if its about 100 km. Logically, it would be best left at Dover is the East London while all the other places are in the West. You can take the train for part of the journey too (eg London – Dover / Cantebury train or London – Salisbury) then take a car when you travel the path I would choose: London – Dover (3 hours drive ) (then spend the night) – however theres not much to see in Dover, beyond the castle, I recommend you also travel to Canterbury is about 20 miles from Dover – Salisbury (about 4 hours or overnight at Salisbury) – Salisbury worth a stop, a beautiful cathedral and Stonehenge is about 15km from Salisbury. Salisbury – Bath (about 1 hour) Bath – Cotswolds (about 1-2 hours depending on where you go) Let so stay Bath (the most beautiful city – lots of hotels, etc., with a value of at least one day) or head to the Cotswolds and stay in a place like Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water or Cheltenham. Stratford is easily accessible from there (about 1-2 hours away) to see other places, I recommend you visit include Cheltenham, Gloucester, New Forest, near Southampton, Portsmouth, Bristol, Hertfordshire, others Cities in Wiltshire – Devizes, Marlborough, Lacock, Malmesbury and Avebury and Silbury Hill

Cotswold village (Twyning Gloucester) wants to keep housing for local people only as rich people are buying retirement homes or vacation homes outbid local buyers. This changes the philosophy of these villages, making it difficult for people to buy homes in their own community. Other areas like the Lake District and Wales want to adopt a similar policy. . Do you think it's a good idea? Ian M.. I know, but the law should be amended to enable it. After looking around, I learned – I think the law should allow. . Here in this part of North Wales Welsh-language philosophy of many villages have been spoiled by non-Welsh speakers moving in and refusing to learn the language. I realize that if someone offered 200,000 by a rich English and only 70 000 by a young Welshman, it would be unreasonable to expect the seller to give up 130 000. However, if you have the right to sell at a local level, the problem would not arise. I sympathize with the people of the Cotswolds and the Lake District. . Or should I say, empathy. Naturally, the situation is different in large urban areas.

Can I catcht a train from Swansea to the cotswolds eg Burton on the water . I was so glad to find this — There is no station at Bourton on the Water. There are also no direct services from Swansea to the Cotswolds, cross country services having been cut back in Wales several years ago. I'm not sure that cross country even serves Cardiff these days. You need to catch a First Great Western service from Swansea and change at Bristol Parkway on to a service stopping at Cheltenham. Alternatively, there are direct services from Swansea to Hereford provided by Arriva Trains Wales. At Hereford you could change on to services which stop at places like Malvern and Evesham. The final alternative (and a long way round) would be to catch a First Great Western service from Swansea stopping and Swindon, and change there for a Swindon-Gloucester service which serve towns like Stroud and Kemble. You really need to look at a site such as
